Meridian (fire) point.

[Origin]

It originally refers to a hill, but here it describes the high rise of the outer ankle, and the acupuncture point is next to it, hence the name.

Behind the lateral malleolus of the foot, in the depression between Waihuaijian (EX-LE9) and the Achilles tendon.
  • Lingshu‧Benshu: "Behind the lateral malleolus, above the calcaneus."
  • Zhenjiu Dacheng: "Five minutes behind the lateral malleolus of the foot." .

[Anatomy]

  • Muscle: Peroneus brevis. There are annular corpuscles distributed; behind it is the Achilles tendon.
  • Nerve: sural nerve.
  • Vessels: small saphenous vein and posterior lateral malleolar artery and vein.

[Manipulation]

perpendicular insertion or oblique insertion 0.5 to 1 cun opposite the anterior edge of the medial malleolus. moxa cone moxibustion 3 to 5 times, moxa stick warm moxibustion for 10 to 15 minutes.

[Efficacy]

dispelling wind heat, manage uterus with appendages, relax the waist and legs.

  • Classical: headache, dizziness, strong neck and spine, tense shoulders and back, waist pain, swelling and pain in the feet, muscle cramp, heart pain, straw sandal wind, inconvenience in walking, athlete's foot, Hanre, malaria, epilepsy, epilepsy, toothache, chest fullness, cough, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, bubo, edema, pediatric swelling of vulva, pediatric fright epilepsy, difficult delivery, retention of placenta, rubella, Yongju, red eyes, twitching feet.
