bubble_chart Etymology

The inner side is "Yin" (陰), the protrusion is "ling" (陵), and "quan" (泉), the spring, comes from below. The acupoint is located on the medial side of lower leg (yin), beneath medial condyle (ling) of tibia, opposite to the Yanglingquan (GB34), hence the name.

On the medial side of lower leg, in the depression posterior and inferior to medial condyle of tibia. Opposite to Yanglingquan (GB34), between the medial edge of tibia and gastrocnemius muscle, above the origin of soleus muscle.

  • Lingshu-Benshu: "Below the auxiliary bone, in the depression";
  • Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing added: "On the medial side below knee...";
  • Zhenfang Liuji: "One finger below the auxiliary bone";
  • Shenying Jing: "Locate it with the knee flexed, below the transverse crease of the knee. It is opposite to Yanglingquan (GB34), slightly higher by one cun".

  • Muscles: above the origin of soleus, between the posterior edge of tibia and gastrocnemius.
  • Nerve: the trunk of the medial cutaneous branch of saphenous nerve in lower leg, and tibial nerve in the deepest layer.
  • Vessels: anteriorly, there are great saphenous vein and superior geniculate artery in the front, in the deepest layer, posterior tibial artery and vein.

Perpendicular insertion 0.5~1.5 cun. Moxibustion is applicable.

Transport middle jiao, resolve dampness, regulate bladder, dispel wind and cold.

  • Classical: cold in abdomen, qi distension in abdomen, profuse diarrhea, no appetite, sharp pain in intestines, fullness in hypochondrium, edema, abdominal hardness, difficulty urinating or incontinence, chills and fever, genital pain, nocturnal emission, cholera, foot Bi-syndrome pain, crane knee wind, pain in lower back, legs, and knee, beriberi with edema, hernia and abdominal mass.
