Jing-river point

"Jie" (解) refers to joint (bone articulation); "Xi" refers to depression. The point is located in the depression between the two tendons in front of ankle joint.

At the midpoint of the transverse crease between foot dorsum and lower leg, in the depression between the tendons of extensor hallucis longus and extensor digitorum longus.
  • Lingshu-Benshu: "One and a half cun above Chongyang (ST42), in the depression";
  • Taiping Shenghui Fang: "At the place where shoes are tied";
  • Zhenjiu Yulong Jing: "In the depression on the outer side of the large tendon at ankle";

  • Nerve: the superficial layer is superficial peroneal nerve, and the deep layer is deep peroneal nerve.

  • Classical: headache, vertigo, eye disease, head and face edema, abdominal distension, constipation, pain or atrophy and bi-syndrome of foot and knee, epilepsy, cholera, cramp, fever disease with inability to sweat , frequent belching, stomach heat, stomach heat with delirium, malaria, convulsions, palpitations, heaviness in the thighs and knees, tendon bi-syndrome, redness of the face and eyes, mouth pain with biting tongue, swelling and weakness in lower legs, qi counterflow.
  • Modern: nephritis, tympanites, enteritis, foot drop, ankle and surrounding soft tissue disease, thrombotic vessel inflammation obliterans, thrombophlebitis.
