[Origin]

Zhu refers to shuttle (weaving tool). There are transverse processes protruding on both sides of the spine, shaped like a weaving shuttle, which was called "Zhu Bone" in ancient times. The point is close to the first thoracic vertebra, hence its name. It also ranks first among Beishu, so it is also called Daju. Lingshu‧Beishu: "The big acupuncture point on the back is at the end of the bone." Ma Shi's note: "The big acupoint is Dazhu (BL11)."

Under the spinous process of the first thoracic vertebra on the back (Taodao (GV13) ) 1.5 inches apart.
  • Lingshu‧Beishu: "The big bones in the back are at the end of the bones" "They are all three inches away from each other by the spine";

[Anatomy]

  • Muscles: trapezius, rhomboids, serratus posterior superioris, the deepest layer is the longissimus muscle (the lungs are in the chest).
  • Nerve: The medial cutaneous branch of the posterior branch of the first or second thoracic nerve, and the deep layer is the lateral branch of the posterior branch.
  • Vessels: dorsal branches of the first intercostal artery and vein.

[Manipulation]

Oblique insertion 0.5~0.8 inches downward or beside the spine. It should not be too deep to avoid accidentally entering the chest and injuring the lungs. moxa cone moxibustion 3 to 7 weeks, moxa stick warm moxibustion for 10 to 15 minutes.

[Efficacy]

dispelling wind, clearing heat, normal circuit qi inversion, relaxing muscles and bones.
  • Classical: headache, Hanre, neck pain, low back pain, shoulder and back pain, pharyngitis, cough, chest fullness, panting, malaria, acne, common cold sweat No discharge, body heat, knee pain and inability to bend or stretch, abdominal pain, strong waist and spine, epilepsy, chest irritability, striae and interstice are not tight and susceptible to wind-cold, bone marrow cold pain, bone steam and hot flashes.
  • Modern: bronchitis, common cold, fever, thoracic membrane inflammation, pneumonia, epilepsy, back muscle wind-dampness pain, spinal nerve syndrome, bone jiehexue, summerheat stroke, cervical spondylosis tender points.
