(Quoted from "Meridians and Acupoints")

On the radial side of the transverse crease on the palmar side of the wrist, where the radial artery pulses. When it is outside and superior to the navicular tubercle, between the flexor carpi radialis tendon and the abductor pollicis longus tendon.

[Anatomy]

  • Muscles: The flexor carpi radialis tendon on the ulnar side and the abductor pollicis longus tendon on the radial side.
  • Nerve: lateral cutaneous nerve of forearm, superficial branch of radial nerve.
  • Vessel: The radial artery goes down from Jingqu (LU8) point to slightly above this point, and then folds towards the radial side of the dorsum of the wrist. It passes through the depth of this point, deep into the tendon sheaths of the abductor pollicis longus tendon and extensor pollicis brevis, that is, the tendon sheath and Between the radial collateral ligaments, it goes backward and outward toward the snuff fossa; while the superficial palmar branch of the radial artery descends into the palm along the outer edge of the flexor carpi radialis tendon sheath at the inner edge of this point. The radial artery and its superficial palmar branches have small accompanying veins.

[Manipulation]

Avoid blood vessels, perpendicular insertion 0.3 to 0.5 inches, and do not damage the radial artery and vein. Direct moxibustion is prohibited to avoid injury to the radial artery and vein. Moxibustion with moxa stick for 3 to 5 minutes.
