"Zi" (子), fetus; "gong" (宮), palace or temple. "Zigong" (子宮), uterus, also known as "Baogong" (胞宮), is the organ in women responsible for nurturing fetus. This acupoint is effective in treating uterine disorders, hence its name "Zigong" (uterus).
