This product is the flower bud of the rose, a shrub plant from the Rosaceae family. It is mainly produced in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, and Sichuan provinces of China. The buds are harvested in batches when they are about to bloom in late spring and early summer. The pedicels and calyxes are removed, and the buds are promptly dried at low temperatures.
