bubble_chart Overview Cyanosis-Digital Clubbing-Hepatopathy Syndrome, also known as Fluckiger Syndrome. It was first reported by Fluckiger in 1984 in cases of cirrhosis accompanied by cyanosis and clubbing. In 1990, Lu Weixuan in China also published a research report on this condition.
bubble_chart Etiology
It may be caused by the liver producing certain abnormal substances leading to intrapulmonary stirred pulse shunting, resulting in cyanosis and clubbing of fingers; the dye dilution test can indirectly indicate intrapulmonary arteriovenous shunting and suggest the severity of liver cirrhosis. It could also be a manifestation of hepatopulmonary syndrome.
bubble_chart Clinical Manifestations
Both men and women can be affected, and it can occur at any age, but it is more common in children. Symptoms and signs of cirrhosis are present, and cyanosis may be accompanied by difficulty breathing, followed by the appearance of clubbing of the fingers.
bubble_chart Diagnosis
Patients with cirrhosis who exhibit cyanosis and clubbing of fingers can be diagnosed if cardiopulmonary diseases are ruled out.
bubble_chart Treatment Measures
Mainly used to treat liver cirrhosis, with a decrease in portal vein pressure and alleviation of cyanosis.
bubble_chart Prognosis
Poor prognosis.
