This formula is a derivative of the True Warrior Decoction, where Ginseng is substituted for Fresh Ginger Rhizome, and the dosages of Aconite Lateral Root and White Atractylodes Rhizome are increased. It is suitable for yang deficiency pattern with dual exterior and interior cold, accompanied by water toxin. In the formula, Aconite Lateral Root, pungent and hot, is used to disperse cold from both the exterior and interior; White Atractylodes Rhizome, Poria, mildly draining dampness, are used to expel water toxin from both inside and outside; the combination of Ginseng and Peony Root assists yang, tonifies deficiency, harmonizes the nutrient and defensive aspects, and treats aversion to cold and pain.
