In the formula, Unprocessed Rehmannia Root cools the blood and nourishes yin, clearing heat; Akebia Stem reduces fire and promotes urination, and when used together, these two herbs promote urination without damaging yin; Bamboo Leaf resolves depression and discharges heat, guiding heat downward to be expelled through urine; raw Liquorice Root clears heat and removes toxins, relieves strangury and pain, and harmonizes the other herbs. The combination of these herbs clears the Heart while nourishing yin, promotes urination, and guides heat downward.
