bubble_chart Description A native of Sanshan (present-day Fuzhou City, Fujian Province), he was born into a family of generations of physicians and began studying medicine from a young age. He had a profound understanding of classical medical texts such as the Neijing, Nan Jing, and cold-damage disease theory, as well as other renowned medical works throughout history. He achieved notable accomplishments in the fields of pulse studies, cold-damage disease, pediatrics, and internal medicine Zabing. His work, the cold-damage disease compendium Huoren Zongkuo in 7 volumes, summarizes Zhang Zhong-jing's cold-damage disease theory and Zhu Gong's Leizheng Huorenshu, incorporating his own scholarly insights. Each entry is prefaced with a mnemonic verse to aid later learners in memorization. His Wangzhai Zhizhi Fanglun in 26 volumes integrates effective prescriptions from predecessors with his own experience, explaining prescriptions based on syndromes and providing a comprehensive discussion on the treatment of internal medicine Zabing, offering readers clear guidelines. Later generations combined these three works into a single publication titled Yang Ren-zhai's Three Works. In addition, Yang also authored Medical True Classic and Pulse Examination Compendium, which are now lost.
