"Ji" (箕), dustpan; "men" (門), door. When the legs are spread apart while sitting on the ground, the posture resembles a dustpan, open like a door. The acupoint is located above this area, hence the name

On the medial side of thigh, 6 cun above Xuehai (SP10), on the line connecting Xuehai (SP10) and Chongmen (SP12), in the depression 8 cun above the medial end of patellar base.

  • Muscles: medial border of sartorius muscle, with adductor magnus muscle located deeper.
  • Nerve: anterior femoral cutaneous nerve, with saphenous nerve situated deeper.
  • Vessels: great saphenous vein, with femoral artery and vein located deeper and laterally.

Perpendicular insertion 0.5~1.5 cun. Direct moxibustion is prohibited; moxibustion with moxa stick for 5 to 10 minutes.
