For treating congealing cold and qi stagnation chest pain, it can be used with Corydalis Tuber, Asarum, and Piper longum, such as in the Kuān Xiōng Pill. For treating cold pain in the stomach, vomiting, and reduced appetite, it can be ground into powder and taken with Dried Ginger decoction; or combined with Aquilaria, Cardamon Fruit, and Villous Amomum Fruit.
