This prescription is suitable for patients with heat syndrome in the heart meridian and small intestine meridian. Up-flaming of heart fire causes redness in the face, thirst, and sores on the mouth and tongue; the heart transfers heat to the small intestine, causing the urine to be short, red and watery, and the urethra is astringent and painful. This prescription can induce the heat of the heart meridian to come out from the urine, and all symptoms will be eliminated by themselves. Unprocessed Rehmannia Root cooling blood and nourishing yin clears heat; Akebia Stem reduces fire and diuresis, the combination of two medicines can dilute water without damaging yin; Bamboo Leaf resolving depression and discharging heat, causing heat to descend from urine; raw Liquorice Root tip clearing heat and removing toxin, relieving stranguria and relieving pain, and can reconcile various medicines. The medicines work together to clear the heart and nourish yin, diuretic and conduct heat downwards.
