It was written by Sun Si-miao of Tang Dynasty and was completed in the second year of Yongchun (682). The author gathered nearly thirty years of experience in his later years to make up for the shortcomings of his masterpiece Qianjin Yaofang, hence the name Yifang.
This book has a total of 30 volumes. During the Northern Song Dynasty, the Medical Bookstore revised the original version and published it nationwide. Since the Song Dynasty, nearly 20 editions have been printed and photocopied in our country. In addition to the six Chinese editions collected in Japan, there are also two better Japanese editions. Among the existing editions, Wang Ken-tang's edition in the 33rd year of Wanli (1605) is the best. Photocopies of the Edo Medical Edition published by the People's Medical Publishing House in 1955 are relatively common.
