[Origin]

Juxu refers to the large gap between the tibia and fibula bones of the lower leg. Suwen ‧Needle explanation: "Those who are extremely weak are those who stand alone with their legs crossed." To compare with Shangjuxu (ST37), Qianjin Yifang is titled with the word "下". Lingshu‧Benshu is called "Juxu Xilian (LI8)", which means the same thing.

[Anatomy]

  • Muscle: Between the tibialis anterior and the extensor digitorum longus, the deep layer is the extensor pollicis longus.
  • Nerve: branches of superficial peroneal nerve, deep peroneal nerve.
  • Vessels: Anterior tibial artery and vein.

[Manipulation]

Perpendicular insertion 0.5~1.5 inches. moxa cone moxibustion 5 ~ 7 strong, moxibustion with moxa stick 10 ~ 20 minutes.

[Efficacy]

Regulates intestines, clears away heat, and relieves lactation.

  • Classical: stomach heat, abdominal pain, diarrhea dysentery, lower limb impediment syndrome, foot flaccidity, acute mastitis, epilepsy, small abdominal pain, low back pain due to testicle control, Hanre body Pain, irritability, qi counterflow, muscle cramp, heaviness in the shins, inability to retract the soles of the feet, and heel pain.
  • Modern: acute and chronic enteritis, wind-dampness arthritis, beriberi.
