【Origin】
This point is on the back of the hand, opposite to the hand reverting yin pericardium meridian (PC) meridian point Laogong (PC8), hence the name Wailaogong (EX-UE8).
【Location】
On the back of the hand, between the second and third metacarpal bones, 0.5 inches behind the metacarpophalangeal joint.
【Anatomy】
In the dorsal interosseous muscles, there are dorsal palmar veins, dorsal hand vein network, and branches of radial nerve.
【Manipulation】
Perpendicular insertion or oblique insertion, 0.5 to 1 inch deep.
【Efficacy】
Metacarpal paralysis, inability to stretch and flex, indigestion, Laozhen.
【Recipe】
- Laozhen: Fengchi (GB20), Tianzhui, Dazhui (GV14), Wailaogong (EX-UE8), ashi point.
- Finger numbness: Jiquan (HT1), Quchi (LI11), Neiguan (PC6), Wailaogong (EX-UE8 ).
