"Si" (四), four; "shen" (神), spirit or mind; "cong" (聰), clear-headedness or sharpness. This point is effective in treating disorders of mind, such as mental disturbances, and sensory impairments like poor hearing or vision. There are four such points, hence the name.
- Muscles: in galea aponeurotica.
- Vessels: occipital artery and vein, parietal branches of superficial temporal artery, and anastomotic network of supraorbital artery and vein.
- Nerve: occipital nerve, auriculotemporal nerve, and branches of the supraorbital nerve.
Oblique or transverse insertion of 0.3 to 0.8 cun toward Baihui (GV20) point. Moxibustion is applicable.
