[Origin]

To carry on, to take over; to weep, to shed tears. The acupuncture point is under the eyes, and when we cry, it will be connected to each other, hence the name.

On the face, the pupil is directly below the pupil in the depression between the eyeball and the infraorbital rim. On the midline of the eye, in the middle of the lower palpebral sulcus.

[Anatomy]

  • Muscles: orbicularis oculi; there are inferior rectus and inferior oblique muscles in the orbit.
  • Nerves: the infraorbital branch of the maxillary nerve, the muscular branch of the inferior branch of the oculomotor nerve, and the zygomatic branch of the facial nerve; the deep layer is the optic nerve.
  • Blood vessels: branches of the infraorbital artery and vein, branches of the ophthalmic artery and vein.

[Manipulation]

Close the eyes, use a straight fine needle to insert between the eyeball and the infraorbital edge, and slowly insert 0.5 to 1 inch along the inner edge of the orbital wall. Before inserting the needle, ask the patient to turn the eyeball downward to make the eye Qiuhou (EX-HN7 ) The tissue is deflected upward to avoid being punctured. It is not advisable to use many twisting or lifting techniques during acupuncture, and the needle should not be retained for too long. After the needle is removed, gently massage the needle hole for a moment to prevent bleeding. It is not advisable to use moxibustion.

[Efficacy]

dispelling wind dispersing fire, dispelling evil and improving vision.

  • Classical: red eye canthus pain, excessive tears, no vision at night, twitching eyelid (blepharospasm), crooked mouth and eyes.
  • Modern: keratitis, night blindness, myopia, glaucoma, optic atrophy, orbicularis oculi spasm, facial nerve palsy.
