Guan, pass; the back belongs to Yang, and the point belongs to governor vessel (GV). It is the pass through which yang qi passes, hence the name. In order to distinguish it from the knee foot lesser yang gallbladder meridian (GB) point with the same name (Xiyangguan (GB33)), it is named "waist". Zhenjiu Daquan is called "Beiyang Pass".

• Muscles: lumbar tendon membrane, supraspinal ligament and interspinous ligament.
