"Xing" (行), pathway or passage; "jian" (間), between. The acupoint is located between toes, in the space of the toe web, hence the name.

- Lingshu‧Benshu: "Between big toe and second toe";
- Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing adds: "In the depression where the pulsating vessel is palpable";
- Zhenjiu Jicheng: "0.5 cun posterior to the junction of big toe and second toe".
- Nerve: where dorsal metatarsal nerve of deep peroneal nerve divides into dorsal digital nerves.
- Vessels: dorsal venous network of foot, dorsal artery and vein of first toe.
Insert slightly upward at an angle, 0.5 to 1 cun. Moxibustion with moxa cone 3 to 5 times, moxibustion with moxa stick for 5 to 10 minutes.
Clear heat and improve vision, extinguish wind and calm fright.
- Classical: hypochondriac pain, abdominal distension, dizziness, blurred vision, epilepsy, insomnia, crooked mouth, qi obstruction in throat , cough, pharyngitis, hernia pain, difficulty urinating, pain in penis, enuresis, ischuria, consumptive thirst, craving for drinks, red and swollen eyes, vomiting, hematemesis, through-flux diarrhea, abdominal pain, fullness below heart, chest and back pain, liver disease, fullness below ribs, lower abdominal distension, irregular menstruation, menorrhagia and metrostaxis, leukorrhea, infantile double tongue, acute and chronic infantile convulsions, knee swelling and lumbago, toe swelling and pain.
- Modern: hypertension, decreased vision, conjunctivitis, glaucoma, tonsillitis, facial muscle spasms, intercostal neuralgia, dysfunctional uterine hemorrhage, orchitis, mammary gland hyperplasia.
