[Origin]
"Horn" refers to the upper corner of the ear. "Sun" means "Xun", which means reclusive. The metaphorical point is hidden in the hairline and covered by the upper corner of the ear, hence the name.

Temporal region of the head: When the ear is folded forward, the point directly above the tip of the ear where it meets the hairline.

[Anatomy]
- Muscle: Supraauricularis.
- Nerve: Auriculotemporal nerve branch.

[Manipulation]
Subcutaneous insertion 0.3 to 0.5 inches backward or downward, or pricking. Moxa stick warm moxibustion for 5 to 15 minutes, or burning-rush moxibustion.
[Efficacy]
clearing and disinhibiting the head and eyes, unblocking ears.
- Classical: headache, vertigo, eye nebula, red eye swelling and pain, gum swelling and pain, tinnitus, deafness, auricle swelling and pain.
- Modern: mumps, conjunctivitis.

- Hazy eyes: Jiaosun (TE20), Zusanli (ST36).
- Teeth cannot chew: Jiaosun (TE20), Jiache (ST6).
- Optic neuritis, retinal membrane hemorrhage: Jiaosun (TE20), Fengchi (GB20), Taiyang (EX-HN5), Ganshu (BL18), Geshu (BL17).
