"Xi" (郄), cleft or fissure; "men" (門), gate or door. The point is the xi-cleft point of hand jueyin pericardium meridian, serving as a gateway for spirit and qi, hence its name.

Located on palmar side of forearm, 5 cun above transverse crease of wrist, on the line connecting
Quze (PC3) and
Daling (PC7).
bubble_chart Anatomy
- Muscles: radial side, flexor carpi radialis muscle; ulnar side, palmaris longus tendon. Superficial layer, flexor digitorum superficialis muscle; deeper layer, flexor digitorum profundus muscle.
- Nerve: medial cutaneous nerve of forearm; deeper layer, median nerve; deepest layer includes anterior interosseous nerve of forearm.
- Vessels: median vein and artery of forearm; deeper layer, anterior interosseous artery and vein.

Perpendicular insertion 0.5~1 cun. Take care to avoid damaging the main trunk of median nerve (especially during acupoint injection). Moxibustion with moxa cone 5~7 rounds, moxibustion with moxa stick for 10~15 minutes.

Tranquilize mind, calm spirit, discharge heat.
- Classical: heart pain, palpitation, chest pain, expectoration of blood, vomiting, hematemesis, manic and depressive psychosis, fear and fright, aversion to people, insufficient spirit qi, chronic malaria not resolving, heat in five centers (palms, soles, and chest), spasmodic pain in elbow and arm, boil and sore, chest gangrene, chronic hemorrhoids, epistaxis.
- Modern: rheumatic heart disease, myocarditis, coronary artery disease, angina pectoris, tachycardia, pleurisy, diaphragmatic spasm.
