- Muscles: origin of pectoralis major, external intercostal membrane, internal intercostal muscles. (deep layer: lower edge of liver on right and the heart on left)
- Nerve: anterior cutaneous branch of fifth intercostal nerve, and the deep layer is fifth intercostal nerve.
- Vessels: fifth intercostal artery and vein.

oblique or transverse insertion 0.3~0.5 cun, avoid deep insertion. Moxibustion with moxa cone 3 to 5 minutes, moxibustion with moxa stick for 5 to 10 minutes.
