"Shu" (束), tight or constricted; "gu" (骨), bone. The point is located at the constricted area behind the joint (fifth metatarsophalangeal joint), hence the name.

Shugu (BL65) acupoint

On lateral side of foot, in the depression at the junction of red and white skin, behind the joint of little toe (fifth metatarsophalangeal joint).

- Muscles: above is the abductor digiti minimi muscle.
- Nerve: common plantar digital of fourth toe, lateral dorsal cutaneous nerve of foot.
- Vessel: common plantar digital artery and vein of fourth toe.

Perpendicular insertion 0.3~0.5 cun. Moxibustion with moxa cone 3 ~ 5 rounds, moxibustion with moxa stick 10 ~ 15 minutes.
