Below the spinous process of the fourth lumbar vertebra (Yaoyangguan (GV3)) 1.5 cun, approximately level with the highest point of the iliac crest.

  • Muscles: between the lumbar membrane, longissimus and iliocostalis.
  • Nerve: The posterior branch of the third lumbar nerve, the deep layer is the lumbar plexus.
  • Vessel: The medial branch of the dorsal branch of the fourth lumbar artery and vein.

Perpendicular insertion or downward oblique insertion 1 to 2 cun. Moxibustion with moxa cone 3 to 7 times, moxibustion with moxa stick for 10 to 15 minutes.
