"Qu" (曲), curved or winding; "cha" (差), quite, very, most. The point is located where foot taiyang bladder meridian (BL) intersects with governor vessel at Shenting (GV24), forming a prominent curve, hence the name. It is also known as "Bichong" (鼻沖, nasal surge) (Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing), referring to its location beside nose, directly above anterior hairline.

On head, 0.5 cun directly above the midpoint of anterior hairline (Shenting (GV24)) and 1.5 cun lateral to it. It is located at the inner one-third point of the line connecting Shenting (GV24) and Touwei (ST8), directly above the lateral border of nasal ala, entering anterior hairline by 0.5 cun.
  • Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing: "1.5 cun lateral to Shenting (GV24) on both sides, at the hairline" ;
  • Tongren Shuxue Zhenjiu Tujing states "Entering the hairline";
  • Lingshujing Vein Wing: "Located beside Shenting (GV24), between Shenting and Linqi (GB15), 0.5 cun within the hairline".

  • Modern: rhinitis, optic neuritis, trigeminal neuralgia.
