The acupoint is located on shoulder and back region, adjacent to Jianwaishu (SI14) and closer to the body's vertical axis (midline), hence its name.

• Muscles: the superficial layer is trapezius muscle, the deep layer are levator scapulae muscle and transverse process end of first thoracic vertebra.
• Nerves: medial branch of posterior branch of first thoracic nerve, accessory nerve, and the deep layer is dorsal scapular nerve.
• Vessels: the deep layers are branches of transverse cervical artery and vein.

Perpendicular or oblique insertion 0.5～0.8 cun. Exercise caution to avoid deep insertion, as it may injure the lung and cause pneumothorax. Moxibustion with moxa cone 3 to 10 minutes, moxibustion with moxa stick for 10 to 15 minutes.

Diffuse lung to downbear counterflow.

• Classical: cough, asthma, spitting of blood, blurred vision, shoulder and back pain, chills and fever, infantile malnutrition with accumulation.
