The acupoint is located on the shoulder and back, positioned more laterally compared to Jianzhongshu (SI15), hence its name.

It is situated below the spinous process of first thoracic vertebra (Taodao (GV13)), 3 cun lateral to spine, at the inner superior aspect of scapula.

  • Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing: "On the upper edge of scapula, 3 cun from the spine, in the depression";
  • Leijing Tuyi: "Level with Dazhu (BL11)".

  • Muscles: trapezius, rhomboids minor. (The deep part is lung).
  • Nerves: accessory nerve, posteromedial cutaneous branch of first thoracic nerve, dorsal scapular nerve.
  • Vessels: transverse cervical arteries and veins in deep layer.

Perpendicular or oblique insertion is 0.5 to 0.8 cun. Exercise caution to avoid deep insertion, as it may injure the lung and cause pneumothorax. Moxibustion with moxa cone 3 to 5 times, moxibustion with moxa stick for 10 to 15 minutes.

dispel wind.

  • Classical: pain in scapula, alternating heat and cold extending to elbow, stiffness of the neck and nape.
  • Modern: cervical spondylosis, stiff neck.
