Apart from sudden viral or bacterial infections, trauma, congenital genetic diseases, or genetic abnormalities, the majority of serious illnesses start from minor ailments. The diseases discussed in this section refer to the latter type.

Preventing problems before they arise is theoretically sound. If minor illnesses can be nipped in the bud, serious illnesses can be avoided altogether. Minor illnesses are easier to treat, while major ones are harder to cure. This principle is widely understood, but difficult to practice. Some people prefer to endure, sometimes getting through minor issues, but the body's self-healing ability is actually quite limited, and there's a risk that minor illnesses could develop into major ones. Others seek immediate medical attention at the first sign of illness, but if they consult the wrong doctor, it can still lead to serious illness. So, how should one choose?

First, you need to understand where the illness comes from to know how to treat it correctly. Let's first explore where "disease" in the macroscopic world originates.

Amazon Rainforest
Imagine a forest. When it is healthy, it is lush with plants and teeming with wildlife. When it is unhealthy, the vegetation withers, and the animals scatter. When is a forest healthy? When the weather is favorable and the climate is suitable. When does a forest get sick? When the climate, temperature, and humidity are abnormal, excluding human destruction or invasive species. According to scientific research, the Amazon rainforest has been thriving for hundreds of thousands of years and almost never gets sick. What significantly changes the Amazon's vegetation is climate anomalies. Therefore, a large, macroscopic system gets sick because its macroscopic conditions have changed, meaning the forest's system state has altered, leading to subsequent "symptoms." Favorable weather creates a "stable state" or "healthy state" for the forest, while drought, heavy rain, or extreme cold push the forest into an "abnormal state" or "sick state," resulting in symptoms like withered vegetation and scattered wildlife.

For example, a drainage ditch is fine when it's clear, but once it gets blocked, it starts to smell and breed mosquitoes. A clear ditch is in a "normal state" or "healthy state," while a blocked one is in an "abnormal state" or "sick state." Bacteria, mold, and mosquitoes are always around the ditch, but they only start causing problems when the ditch enters an "abnormal state," leading to symptoms like odor and mosquito breeding. So, are the mosquitoes and bacteria the root problem? No, it's the ditch being in a "blocked state."

Therefore, when a macroscopic system gets sick, its "system state" changes first. The system shifts from a "normal state" to a "sick state," and only then do various diseases emerge. "Symptoms" appear later. Who is the "host" and who is the "guest"? Who is the "boss" and who is the "employee"? Isn't it clear?

The human body contains trillions of cells and is a mysterious macroscopic world. The same principles apply as with forests and ditches. Changes in the body's overall system state come first, followed by symptoms. The body's internal balance is disrupted first, gradually leading to various illnesses. Bacteria, viruses, and mold that are always present in the environment only become life-threatening when the body is weak. Treatment should start with adjusting the body's macroscopic system state, as this is the root cause. Merely treating local symptoms will never end, because the body's systemic imbalance is the root of all diseases!

Today, only Tradcitional Chinese Medicine (TCM) on Earth has reached this level of medical expertise, capable of detecting and treating systemic imbalances in the human body. Modern medicine is still far from achieving this and is not even aware of such a concept. When minor illnesses arise, promptly seek TCM for treatment—of course, make sure to find someone who truly understands it. If you can't find such a practitioner, learn it yourself. By restoring the body's balance, you can nip diseases in the bud, ensuring you never develop serious or severe illnesses!

However, it is undeniable that in the past century, modern medicine has indeed excelled in treating symptoms by leveraging technological advancements. TCM has been suppressed for 100 years, leading to stagnant development, and it indeed falls short of modern medicine in treating symptoms. Based on the principle of TCM, "treat the symptoms in acute cases and the root cause in chronic cases," modern medicine should only be chosen as an alternative therapy when symptoms are difficult to control with Chinese medicinals. TCM should be the first choice.
