common name | Goral Blood Shan Yang Xie |
family | Bovidae |
The blood of the bovid animal, the blue sheep, is produced in Sichuan, Guangxi, Yunnan, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, and other regions. It is generally hunted using methods such as lassoing, netting, and trapping. After capture, a syringe is used to pierce the heart to extract heart blood; or fresh blood is obtained by slaughter. The blood is placed in a basin, dried in the sun, and then cut into small pieces. Alternatively, the fresh blood can be re-injected into sheep intestines that have been scraped clean of fat, tied into 3-4 cm long sections, dried in the sun, and then removed.
