This product is the leaf of plants belonging to the Taiwan beautyberry leaf genus of the European Verbena Herb family. Commonly used varieties include bigleaf beautyberry leaf (Callicarpa macrophylla Vahl.), nakedflower beautyberry leaf (C. nudiflora Hook et Arn.), as well as longleaf Taiwan beautyberry leaf, coarseleaf Taiwan beautyberry leaf, Chinese Taiwan beautyberry leaf, Taiwan beautyberry leaf, and Callicarpa formosana, among other Taiwan beautyberry leaf genus plants used in medicine. They mostly grow on hillsides and in shrublands. Bigleaf beautyberry leaf: An evergreen shrub or small tree, the entire plant is covered with grayish-white, mealy, long hairs; simple leaves are opposite, oblong, 15~25 cm long, with serrated edges; in summer, axillary cymes produce purple corollas; the fruit is round, about the size of a mung bean, turning purple-red like a bead when ripe, hence the name "Taiwan beautyberry leaf". Nakedflower beautyberry leaf: Similar in form to bigleaf beautyberry leaf, but its old stems are bare and have lenticels; its leaves are smaller, with fewer hairs, turning brown when dried, and the inflorescence stalks are shorter.

This product, when combined with Platycladus, can be used for various types of bleeding, especially effective for thrombocytopenic bleeding.
  2. Clearing heat and removing toxin: Used for various heat toxin syndromes. (a) Burns: Using a 100% decoction of nakedflower beautyberry leaf as a spray, coating, or wet compress on the wound can prevent and treat wound infections, reduce fluid exudation (as the medicinal liquid forms a thin medicinal membrane on the wound), thereby reducing the amount of fluid infusion and lowering the incidence of shock. Additionally, external application is also effective for suppurative skin ulcers. (b) Cervicitis, vaginitis (including those caused by trichomonas, candida, and general bacteria): After local rinsing with diluted Taiwan beautyberry leaf solution, insert a cotton wool plug soaked in 50% Taiwan beautyberry leaf solution, remove after 12~24 hours, or use powder for local spray, once daily for more than 5 days. (c) Conjunctivitis, keratitis, corneal ulcer, trachoma, etc.: Use 10% Taiwan beautyberry leaf saline solution for eye drops several times a day, with good efficacy, especially effective for epidemic keratoconjunctivitis.
  3. Draining dampness and reducing jaundice: Used for acute infectious hepatitis, take nakedflower beautyberry leaf daily, divided into three doses.
