This product is a perennial herb of the Lamiaceae family, Japanese Betony Herb (Stachys japonica Miq.). It is distributed in the provinces of East China, North China, and Liaoning, growing in wetlands near water at altitudes below 230 meters. The rhizome and the whole plant are used for medicinal purposes.
