This product is the dried mature seeds of the Rhamnaceae family plants Hovenia dulcis (Hovenia dulcis Thunnb.), Hovenia acerba (Hovenia acerba Lindl.), and Hovenia trichocarpa (Hovenia trichocarpa Chun et Tsiang). It may also include the fruit with the inflorescence axis, harvested when the fruit matures from October to November.

Hovenia dulcis is distributed in North China, Northwest China, East China, Central South China, Southwest China, and Taiwan. Hovenia acerba is distributed in North China, East China, Central South China, Southwest China, as well as Shaanxi and Gansu. Hovenia trichocarpa is distributed in Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, and Guizhou on the mainland.

1. Grind them into powder, mix with flour and water paste to form pills the size of phoenix tree seeds. Take thirty pills each time, swallowed with salt water on an empty stomach.
