bubble_chart Formula Principles
The formula focuses on moving qi and dispersing stasis, showing good effects on swelling and pain from external injuries. The formula includes lawn marshpennywort, also known as Chinese forgetmenot root, which is the root and whole plant of the perennial herb Chinese elder herb from the honeysuckle flower family. It has a sweet and mild taste, a neutral nature, and enters the liver and kidney meridians. It can resolve stasis to stop pain, expel wind and dredge collaterals, unblock water and disperse edema, and accelerate fracture healing. When decocted and used externally for washing, it has the effect of dispelling wind and relieving itching, and can be used to treat conditions such as rubella cutaneous pruritus. However, this herb can easily cause vomiting, so those with spleen-stomach weakness should use it with caution. Additionally, there is another herb in traditional medicine also called lawn marshpennywort, which is actually Centella asiatica, also known as Leigong root or Asiatic pennywort herb, belonging to the Apiaceae family. It differs from the aforementioned herb in both nature and function and should not be confused.
bubble_chart Documentation"The Great Compendium of Traumatology" states: "Stiff neck can be caused by improper lying posture or a momentary mistake. Have the patient sit in a low place, first perform kneading and rubbing, lift their head with one hand, ... then administer the Jili Powder." "The Complete Book of Bone Setting" states: "For any injury, it is necessary to examine the affected part, assess the severity, and determine the duration of the injury. In males, the child-element/phase qi circulates from the left, which pertains to yang; in females, blood circulates from the right, which pertains to yin. It is essential to differentiate between qi and blood. Once this condition is identified, zang-fu organs and meridians are also examined to determine the prognosis and speed of recovery. Then, based on the condition, appropriate medication is prescribed, or the second formula, Jili Powder, is administered directly."
