Rehmannia (washed with wine), Licorice (roasted), Dried Ginger (prepared), each 1.5 gm; Chuanxiong, Cooked Rehmannia, each 3 gm; White Peony Root (stir-fried) 3.9 gm; Tangerine Peel 2.1 gm; Chinese Angelica, Atractylodes, each 3.9 gm; Phellodendron (soaked in honey water, roasted) 2.1 gm; Anemarrhena (soaked in honey water, stir-fried), Asparagus (de-cored, peeled), each 3 gm.

Add 3 slices of ginger to the above ingredients, decoct in water, and administer while warm before meals.

Pulmonary tuberculosis. Excessive indulgence in lust injures the essence and blood, leading to night sweats during sleep, afternoon fever, cough, and in severe cases, sputum mixed with blood, fatigue and weakness, reduced appetite, and a deep, rapid pulse.

If the cough is severe, add 2.1 grams each of White Mulberry Root-Bark, Dutohmanspipe Fruit, and Trichosanthis Fruit kernel. If phlegm is abundant, add 3 grams each of ginger-prepared Pineilia, Fritillaria Bulb, and Trichosanthis Fruit kernel. If tidal fever is severe, add 2.1 grams each of White Mulberry Root-Bark, Coastal Glehnia Root, and Chinese Wolfberry Root-bark. If nocturnal emission or seminal emission occurs, add 2.1 grams each of oyster shell, Fossil Bone, and Asiatic Cornelian Cherry Fruit. If night sweats are excessive, add 2.1 grams each of oyster shell and Sour Jujube, and a pinch of light wheat. For red and white turbidity, add 3 grams of white Poria and 0.9 grams of fried Coptis Rhizome.
