bubble_chart Formula Principles
Starwort Root can clear heat from the bone marrow and treat steaming bone fever caused by deficiency fatigue. Chinese Wolfberry Root-bark, Neopicrorhiza, and Anemarrhena all enter the yin aspect and clear latent heat from within. Sweet Wormwood and Gentian both possess the dispersing property of pungency, capable of expelling internal latent heat to the surface. Additionally, turtle carapace nourishes yin and subdues yang, tonifies the liver and kidney, and guides the other herbs to act internally. Liquorice Root regulates the spleen and stomach to prevent the cold and cloying nature of the herbs from injuring the spleen and stomach qi. Combined into a formula, it collectively achieves the effects of clearing bone heat, reducing steaming sensation, nourishing yin, and subduing yang.
bubble_chart Formula Modification
Severe blood deficiency, add Chinese Angelica, Peony Root, Unprocessed Rehmannia Root; for excessive coughing, add Donkey-hide Gelatin, Ophiopogon Tuber, Schisandra Fruit.
