Cooked Rehmannia Root 9-21 gm, Atractylodes Macrocephala 9-15 gm, Chinese Angelica 9-15 gm (not suitable for diarrhea, or can be replaced with Chinese Yam), Ginseng 6-15 gm (up to 30 gm in severe cases, or can be omitted), Roasted Licorice Root 3 gm, Bupleurum 6-12 gm, Ephedra 3-9 gm, Cinnamon Bark 3-6 gm, Stir-fried Dried Ginger 3-6 gm (or can be replaced with 3-7 slices of simmered Fresh Ginger).

For qi deficiency, add 6-9 grams of Astragalus Root; for severe cold due to yang deficiency, add 3-6 grams of processed Aconite Lateral Root; for headache, add Sichuan Lovage Rhizome or Dahurian Angelica and Asarum; for yang deficiency with qi sinking, add Cimicifuga Rhizome; for abdominal diarrhea, it is advisable to slightly reduce Bupleurum and add Saposhnikovia Root and Asarum.
