bubble_chart Formula Principles
The formula heavily utilizes Ginseng to sustain the primordial yang and rescue from collapse. However, replenishing qi without replenishing blood may bring temporary revival, but it is also quickly lost. Therefore, Chinese Angelica and Donkey-hide Gelatin are used to tonify blood. Yet, tonifying blood without promptly replenishing the essence of the liver and kidney will not secure the root, and yang will not be sustained. Hence, Prepared Rehmannia Root, Cornus, and Barbary Wolfberry Fruit are added to tonify the liver and kidney. Ophiopogon Tuber is also used to nourish lung yin and protect the lungs, ensuring robust lung qi and strong ascending and descending functions. Considering the postpartum condition, the use of yin-tonifying herbs may cause stagnation, so Cassia Bark is specifically added to tonify the fire of the life gate, ensuring the fire qi has a root, aiding Ginseng in generating qi, and also transforming Rehmannia and similar herbs to produce essence and blood. Additionally, Schizonepeta is used to guide blood meridian tropism, stabilizing lung qi and quickly alleviating wheezing.
