Decocted in water, take while hot.

Cold stagnation in the middle and lower burners, qi counterflow, abdominal pain, or vomiting and diarrhea; or neither vomiting nor diarrhea, but severe dry cholera and other critical conditions.

If there is food stagnation, add 4.5 grams each of hawthorn fruit, germinated barley, and medicated leaven; if there is pain and vomiting, add 4.5 grams of pinellia; if there is severe cold and a preference for heat, add evodia fruit and cassia bark; if there is qi stagnation and poor circulation, add white mustard seed, green tangerine peel, and areca seed; if there is severe abdominal pain, add fennel; if there is also hernia, add 6-9 grams of lychee seed (roasted).
