In the formula, Bupleurum and Pueraria Root serve as the sovereign to release the flesh and effuse the exterior; Gypsum and Skullcap Root clear internal stagnant heat, while Notopterygium and Dahurian Angelica Powder address external contraction of wind-cold as the ministers; Platycodon Root ventilates the lung and benefits the throat, and Peony Root harmonizes the nutrient aspect and drains heat as the assistants; Fresh Ginger Rhizome and Chinese Date harmonize the nutrient and defense aspects, and strengthen the spleen and stomach as the envoys. The combination of these herbs collectively achieves the effect of acrid-cool releasing the flesh while simultaneously clearing stagnant heat.

Without sweating, aversion to cold, especially, remove Skullcap Root and add Ephedra; in winter, it is appropriate to add, in spring, it should be reduced, and in summer and autumn, remove it and add cultivated purple perilla leaf.
