After five to seven days, if the lower abdomen feels soft and without lumps, and is not painful upon pressing, remove the six ingredients: red paeony root, Typha, Cassia Bark, Trogopterus Dung, Peach Kernel, and Carthamus. Instead, add 9 grams of Peony Root, 9 grams of Ophiopogon Tuber, and 2.1 grams of Schisandra Fruit. If there is spontaneous sweating, remove Schizonepeta and Sichuan Lovage Rhizome, and add 15 grams of Ziziphus Spinosa Seed; if there is palpitation due to fright, also add it. If sweating persists, add 6 grams each of Astragalus Root and Ginseng. If there is severe deficiency with panting, double the amount of Ginseng, Astragalus Root, and Ophiopogon Tuber, and remove Unprocessed Rehmannia Root, Chinese Angelica, Peach Kernel, and Carthamus. If the spleen and stomach are weak, with loss of appetite and diarrhea, add an appropriate amount of Ginseng, 4.5 grams of Nutmeg, 2.1 grams of Villous Amomum Fruit, and 2.4 grams of red tangerine exocarp.
