bubble_chart Formula Principles
In the formula, Ephedra serves as the monarch herb for ventilating the lungs, resolving phlegm, and inducing sweating. Bitter Apricot Seed and Cultivated Purple Perilla Fruit act as minister herbs to descend qi, disperse phlegm, ventilate the lungs, and relieve cough. Dried Tangerine Peel regulates qi and dries dampness, White Mulberry Root-Bark drains the lungs and promotes water movement, and Red Poria eliminates dampness and promotes water circulation. These three herbs serve as assistant herbs to move qi, expel water, and disperse phlegm. Prepared Liquorice Root harmonizes the actions of all the herbs as the envoy. Together, they achieve the effects of ventilating the lungs, resolving phlegm, relieving cough, and calming wheezing.
