It heavily utilizes Peony Root to astringe the liver and relieve pain, White Atractylodes Rhizome and Poria to tonify the spleen and replenish qi, combined with Alisma to eliminate dampness with mild herbs, and assisted by Chinese Angelica and Sichuan Lovage Rhizome to regulate the liver and nourish blood. The combination of these herbs works together to harmonize the liver and spleen, tonify deficiencies, and eliminate dampness.
According to the "Yuanhe Jiyong Jing," this prescription was originally used for health preservation, capable of "dispelling wind, replenishing fatigue, nourishing true yang, dispelling pathogenic heat, soothing the middle, calming the mind, and moisturizing the complexion; dispersing cold evil, warming miasma, and seasonal epidemics.
