bubble_chart Formula Principles
Gypsum excels at clearing heat from the stomach meridian and is the primary herb for treating intense stomach fire. When stomach heat is present, the blood aspect also becomes hot, and yin is damaged, leading to fluid depletion. Therefore, it is paired with Unprocessed Rehmannia Root and lalang grass rhizome to clear heat and cool the blood. Dendrobium, Ophiopogon Tuber, Polygonatum Sibiricum, and sugarcane juice are used to enrich yin and generate fluids. When stomach fire flares upward, causing gum decay, Pueraria Root, Platycodon Root, and Mentha are added as cooling and dispersing agents to dissipate stagnant fire in the stomach. Together, these herbs achieve the effects of clearing the stomach, stopping bleeding, enriching yin, and producing fluids.
