Except for yellow lead, simmer the other ingredients in oil over low heat until they turn a deep reddish-purple color. Discard the herbs, then add half of the yellow lead to the oil, stirring continuously until the mixture turns slightly black. Add the remaining yellow lead and continue stirring over low heat until the mixture becomes deep purple-black and forms a drop that does not disperse or stick to the hand when dripped into water. Add a small amount of yellow lead and boil for a few more minutes. If the mixture becomes too thick, add a little more oil until it no longer sticks to the hand. When using, spread the mixture on paper according to the size of the sore and apply it as a patch.
