bubble_chart Formula Principles
In the formula, Cinnamon Twig warms yang and unblocks the vessels, Peony Root nourishes blood and harmonizes the nutrient qi, Peach Kernel breaks blood stasis and resolves masses, Moutan Cortex invigorates blood and resolves stasis, and Poria tonifies qi and nourishes the heart. The formula is made into honey pills to achieve a gradual and gentle dispersing effect. Regarding its impact on hemorheology, as reported in "Chinese Patent Drug Research" 1986(5):24-26, experiments showed that intravenous injection or oral administration of this formula significantly reduces whole blood viscosity, reduced whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, and fibrinogen concentration, while increasing erythrocyte electrophoretic speed. The experiments found that the drug is effective through both intravenous and oral administration routes, with the former acting quickly and the latter having a prolonged effect. Moreover, oral administration particularly strongly reduces plasma viscosity.
