Take 15 grams of yellow wax and 21 croton seeds (shelled and membranes removed), and cook them together in a silver or stone vessel over a double boiler for a period of time until the croton seeds turn purple. Remove 14 croton seeds, leaving only 7 seeds, and grind them thoroughly with the two ingredients mentioned above. Then melt the wax and mix it with the medicine. When ready to use, form the mixture into pills the size of mung beans. Take 3 to 5 pills each time. For watery diarrhea, administer with ginger soup; for white dysentery, administer with mugwort soup; for red and white dysentery, administer with dark plum soup. Take the medicine on an empty stomach, and wait two hours after taking it before eating. It is especially effective if taken before sleep. The next day, eat only plain congee for the entire day. For malaria, take with frankincense soup in the evening before the expected onset of symptoms.
