bubble_chart Preparation and Dosage
Except for the separately ground medicine, which is added later, all ingredients are pounded and sieved into fine powder. Take 1000 grams of good honey, boil it once or twice, then add the powdered raw dried rehmannia. Stir continuously without stopping, occasionally adding the previously extracted juice of akebia and bupleurum. Slowly simmer into a paste, being careful not to let it burn. Then mix with the remaining powdered medicine to form pills the size of peas. Take 20 pills each time, chew and swallow with hot water, or swallow whole without chewing. For symptoms of fatigue, vexing heat, thirst, and palpitations, decoct ginseng and take with soup. For cough with bloody sputum, nosebleeds, and vomiting blood, decoct ophiopogon (soaked in soup and de-cored) and take with soup, after meals and before sleep. For conditions like metrorrhagia, hematuria, and various types of strangury, take before meals. For treating strangury, decoct plantain seeds and take with soup.
