bubble_chart Overview A positive tuberculin test result of ≥ "++" without identifiable specific subcutaneous node lesions is referred to as subcutaneous node infection.
bubble_chart Clinical Manifestations
- Weak constitution is prone to respiratory infections.
- None or presence of subcutaneous node poisoning symptoms (see primary pulmonary subcutaneous node).
- Superficial lymph nodes show grade I enlargement with increased numbers.
- A small number of children exhibit subcutaneous node hypersensitivity symptoms (see primary pulmonary subcutaneous node). The subcutaneous node tuberculin (OT or PPD) test results show redness, swelling, and induration ≥10mm, which can exclude reactions caused by BCG vaccination.
bubble_chart Auxiliary Examination
- Blood picture: Older children may have grade I anemia.
- ESR is not elevated.
- Serum anti-subcutaneous node bacterial purified protein derivative─globulin (PPD-IgG) is positive.
bubble_chart Treatment Measures
- INH 5~10mg/(kg·d), maximum dose not exceeding 300mg/d, administered in a single draught on an empty stomach in the morning, treatment course of 6 months, which can be extended to 9~12 months if necessary.
- General therapy: same as primary pulmonary subcutaneous node.
